About R-Way Furniture
R-Way Furniture Company
While the name R-Way Furniture Company did not come about until 1949, the company’s roots stretch back to 1881. George B. Mattoon founded the Mattoon Manufacturing Company, which was renamed the Northern Furniture Company upon his death in 1904. The company was known for producing high quality furniture in a wide range of uses, including buffets, desks, bookcases, and dining sets. C. Reiss Coal Company purchased Northern Furniture in 1916 and it continued to produce furniture under that name until the change to R-Way in 1949. At one point in time, R-Way operated their own showrooms where they could sell directly to consumers. They continued to produce fine furniture until 1992.

Style R-Way Furniture
Our selection of R-Way Furniture includes products from the beautiful La Rochelle French Country collection. They feature graceful curves and simple ornamentation, with a finish that balances between light and dark. They are eye-catching, but not overpowering among your other decor and furniture. Other popular styles of R-Way Furniture include classic Colonial pieces in Hard Rock maple, Italian Provincial pieces, and mid-century modern in striking, lighter hues. Their pieces are easy to blend into your room, but also fun to play up in unexpected ways. For instance, a gorgeous French Country dresser could make for an interesting TV stand with a lot of storage.
