All the products we sell are in excellent condition. To determine this, we think about furniture on a scale from 1 to 10, where 1 means poor condition and 10 means perfect, like-new condition. High End Used Furniture only lists items considered to be an 8 or higher on this scale. All our furniture has been well taken care of and comes from nice, clean estates.

Because most of our customers don’t have the opportunity to see furniture live at our facility, we make it easy to know exactly what you are purchasing. We never use stock photos—we take pictures of our furniture in a home-style studio with home-style lighting. This allows you to see the exact piece and its condition before it arrives at your door.

We provide dimensions, a condition rating, and delivery prices upfront, for every piece. There are no hidden fees and you won’t be surprised by the condition of your furniture. We are transparent in all our practices—if a piece of furniture is missing a small part or has a minor cosmetic defect, you will find this information clearly listed in the item’s description.


We offer financing with Afterpay and Paypal Credit. Get 6 months of interest-free financing for your new piece of furniture. We also accept PayPal and Venmo to make your purchase fast and convenient.

After your purchase, all you have to do is wait! Our team will process your payment, pack your furniture to ensure proper protection, and send it to your address with one of our trusted delivery partners.


Our delivery service provider will call you to discuss the logistics and timing at least 48 hours in advance.

Your furniture items will be delivered at your driveway or curbside. If you are interested in inside delivery for an additional fee, we will do our best to accommodate. Please contact us if you are interested in inside delivery prior to placing your order. We will be happy to discuss your options.

We’re a small family-owned business with 20 years of experience with used furniture.

What started in a one-car garage has become a full operation out of a 40,000 square foot facility. Over the years, we have helped over 10,000 clients obtain that perfect furniture piece they had been seeking for years.

The Heart of the Matter:
A Word from the CEO

I began working at High End Used Furniture at 12. It’s unusual for a kid to work at this young of an age, but I had a rare opportunity.

My father, Phil Brewster started this business in July 2000 out of a one-car garage. Being home-schooled, and having an exorbitant amount of spare time, my parents spotted an opportunity to instill a solid work ethic at an early age. Over my 20 years here, I have literally done every job this business entails.

Little did I know exactly how much my early start in business and the lessons I have learned here would help me. In May 2017, my father unexpectedly passed away due to cardiac arrest. This was a shock and detriment to our family, our staff, and our business. As a team, it took us months to get back on our feet. But, with time and intentional decision-making, we’re stronger now.

Not the business, but the values and integrity behind it, are my father’s legacy.

A Look Inside our Business

At High End Used Furniture, our ideals aren’t just represented in the quality of product we provide for our customers… Perhaps even more notably, our vision is more properly displayed by the way we handle our work and our employees. Over the course of 20+ years of conducting interviews, I’ve noticed a pattern in the language that people use coming from the marketplace that deeply bother me. Instead of speaking kindly of their previous work environments, I’m met with any various types of workplace fatigue. People are overworked, undervalued, and lost in systems that only demand numbers, processes and algorithms.

At High End Used Furniture, we value people over processes, and we put relationship before revenue. – We’re here to pull for each other. In the workplace and even OUTSIDE of the workplace. If any one of my employees ever calls me, our boots are on the ground. Period. – While ideals like this tend to get lost on “big corporate,” we strive to be different. We’re a family. And, we do our best to calculate every move we make to protect our vision. We do what we do to protect who we are. I’ve learned that leadership has far more to do with listening to the internal condition of those around you than it has anything to do with telling people what to do. If any one of my employees ever walk through the threshold of our business and feel like they are losing themselves here…
I’m Not Doing My Job!

We do business differently. Rather than hang everything on a series of processes, we do real deep diving. We have a vested interest in our vision, our relationships with our customers, and in the stories of our employees, and we will do what’s necessary to protect everyone who comes in contact with us, whether it be in a small or big way. Even at the hand of real scrutiny and judgement from those who don’t understand what we’re doing.


When we have a job that is hard or uncomfortable, we don’t back down from it. We rally as a team and we solve the problem together.


We don’t give up on one another. When a mistake is made, we address the situation. But, we’re also interested in getting to the root of why the mistake was made in the first place. We learn, and we move on. Incidentally, this is a two way street. If WE make a mistake as leaders, we address our missteps head on. We teach devotion and loyalty. Not perfection.


We take physical, emotional, and mental health seriously. Yes, it’s important for our employees to have solid attendance, but life also happens. We try our best to strike an appropriate balance between work life and private life for all of our employees. When our employees are working hard for us, they also have the freedom to step away when something in life takes priority over work. – In many cases, we’re even known to shut down operations for the day to help whoever is in need. – We take care of our own!


We’re intentionally looking out for opportunities to grow and become better. Both in small, disciplinary ways that are in our control, and transformational circumstances that are out of our control. We strive to be a business that holds true values closely. Honor. Integrity. Responsibility. Empathy. Perseverance.


While other businesses draw hard lines between “business” and “friendship,” we believe that business relationships won’t stand the test of time without friendship. Phil Brewster


Phil is the founder of High End Used Furniture. He literally built High End Used Furniture from the ground up. Phil is completely self taught and self motivated. Although, we have been in business for 20+ years, we have not always been dealing in furniture. Our business first started out of a one car garage, and we dealt in smaller vintage and antique goods such as vinyl records, Hummel figurines, and collectable pottery and glassware. One day we came across a pair of Ethan Allen Georgian Court Dining Chairs. Phil fell in love with the idea of offering high end, solid constructed furniture to the people who still admired quality. What High End Used Furniture has become started with those two chairs.

In May of 2017, Phil unexpectedly passed away due to Cardiac Arrest. While Phil is no longer with us, the values Phil instilled live on and are the foundation of this company.

Phil wants you to know… We deal in old school customer service at High End Used Furniture. When you call us or email us, you aren’t talking to a robot. You don’t have to fight through bureaucracy to talk to someone with authority. When you contact us, it’s a business owner talking with you. Derek Brewster

President - CEO

Derek has been working at High End Used Furniture since he was 13 years old. Over the course of 20+ years, he has literally done every job within the business. High End Used Furniture has changed and grown a lot over the years. Having witnessed every step High End Used Furniture has taken, Derek’s utmost desire is to provide the best cutting edge online shopping experience, while still remaining humble. Unlike larger corporations, Derek wants to make sure that when you reach out to us, you’re talking with someone who can answer your questions quickly and accurately. Derek runs a family style business, and when you place an order with High End Used Furniture, Derek wants you to feel that you are part of the family! The High End Used Furniture family cares about your experience when you do business with us!

Shawna Brewster-Phipps

Business Advisor

Shawna has been part of the High End Used Furniture family since its humble beginnings. When the business first started, Shawna was home schooling three kids, remodeling her 100 year old Victorian home, putting a solid meal on the table for the family most every evening, and somehow still found time to handle a great deal of logistics and communications for High End Used Furniture.

While she isn’t as busy with the business as she once was, Shawna still works for High End Used Furniture as a business advisor and handles some of the overflow when we get busy. Her seniority and knowledge in the business still helps navigate High End Used Furniture’s direction today!

Shawna wants you to know… As a customer of High End Used Furniture, you are being taken care of. Problems are rare, but even if they occur, Shawna wants you to know that if you reach out to us, we’ll do everything we can to reach a swift and satisfactory resolution.

When Shawna isn’t working… Shawna loves to travel, listen to music, go to concerts, garden, and spend time with family and friends.

Meagan Brewster


Meagan handles most of the background work and is a large reason behind why our pictures look as great as they do. While Derek is seeking out the best in new quality furniture selections, Meagan is busy editing each individual picture of every product to correct tone, lighting, and overall appearance so that all of our pictures are an appropriate representation of each real product we are offering. Meagan also prepares each individual listing with all of the information you’re looking for like Brand, Style, Category, Measurements, and Condition. That way, all Derek has to do is review each listing for revisions and publish products for your shopping pleasure. I guess we know who does the heavy lifting around here!

Meagan wants you to know… We do our best at High End Used Furniture to make our pictures look as close to how they would look in your own home as possible. We take our pictures with one of the highest grade photography cameras on the market, and we take our pictures in a home style studio. We edit our pictures to correct color tone, but the pictures you see of our individual products are of the real product you will receive. We offer you real quality furniture, not stock photos!

When Meagan isn’t working… Meagan loves to read, go for walks/hikes, play with her dog, Ellie, and hang out with her husband, Derek.

This well-known brand began producing furniture in 1932. Founded by two brothers-in-law, Nathan Ancell and Theodore Baumritter started their furniture business in a small garage in Beecher Falls, Vermont.

In 1962, they named the business Ethan Allen after an American revolutionary war hero. While their product line has changed throughout the years, one thing has remained consistent—the quality. Ethan Allen has earned a reputation in the industry for furniture that stands the test of time.


Thomasville Chair Company began in Thomasville, North Carolina in 1904. Originally dedicated to manufacturing chairs, it didn’t take long for the business to diversify its product line to include full dining sets, bedroom sets, and more.

The company has been sold to many different owners throughout the years. You can still find furniture produced under the Thomasville name, but their original vintage pieces are especially desireable. When you purchase a piece of Thomasville furniture, you can count on a high quality piece.


Drexel Heritage was founded in North Carolina in 1903. Sam Huffman started the company, and his son, Robert O. Huffman took over in 1935. Over the next 15 years, Drexel quickly grew from a small factory to one of the leading furniture manufacturers.

Century Furniture is a family-owned business established in Hickory, North Carolina. At its start in 1947, Century initially specialized in upholstery, but expanded their product line in the years following.
