About Pennsylvania House
Pennsylvania House Furniture
Pennsylvania House Furniture was one of the earliest furniture brands in America. It started in 1887 in a small workshop in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. With the dense old forests of the area supplying them with strong, beautiful cherry wood, Pennsylvania House produced a great deal of handcrafted casegoods including dressers, dining room tables, and bookcases. While cherry was their most popular material, furniture made in maple, pine, and walnut enjoyed success as well. Over time they expanded their line to include reproduction Victorian era pieces as well as mid-century modern and, eventually, contemporary styles. Pennsylvania House was purchased by La-Z-Boy in 2005, which led to the eventual closure of the brand entirely.
